Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a popular skin resurfacing treatment.  Using microcrystals, the skin is powerfully yet gently exfoliated to reveal a brighter, clearer complexion with fewer visible lines.

More about Microdermabrasion

What is Medical Microdermabrasion?

Medical microdermabrasion is a gentle skin resurfacing treatment. It involves spraying sterile, non-toxic microcrystals onto the surface of the skin and then immediately removing them by means of a vacuum producing hand piece. This also gently removes the stratum corneum, which is the most superficial layer of the skin which contains dead skin cells only.

The process exposes the new fresh layer of skin underneath, giving an immediate improvement to the skins appearance and making it more receptive to topical skin agents.

What is it used for?

Medical microdermabrasion is the perfect treatment to improve a dull tired complexion. It is essentially a deep exfoliation. It can help with fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation and superficial acne scarring, particularly when combined with superficial skin peels and a dedicated skin care programme. Best results are obtained by having 4 to 6 treatments spaced every week or two.

Because it is such a gentle procedure it may be used on the neck and décolleté. It is also safe during pregnancy.

What are the side effects?

Medical microdermabrasion is a particularly safe procedure. There may be some transient redness after the treatment similar to that after vigorous exercise.

What does it cost?

Individual microdermabrasion treatments at Q Clinics in Bristol cost £50 with a reduction in price if a course is bought in advance.

For patients planning to maximize results by having regular treatments throughout the year, we offer a payment plan which reduces the cost of treatment by up to 20%.
